I worked for a Western Restaurant where almost all of my customers are foreigners. While taking orders, I noticed that they like to start their meal with a San Giorgio Lasagna. I say to myself, it must be delicious. Not long after that, I decided to present hard work by getting one for myself one and I fell in love. I need to say first that I was not a fan of pasta, but San Giorgio Lasagna has changed my mind.
It was served hot. The cheese is melted down over the pasta. It’s so yummy, juicy from the meat, so peppery and thick with tomato sauce. Right after that, I started searching and learned how to make this dish. After a lot of trying, I made myself this recipe. Today, I would like to share it with you, to everyone who loves cheese and pasta.
This San Giorgio Lasagna recipe has no sugar added. So it’s healthy. Pasta is easy to digest and cheese helps you to keep the energy so you don’t feel hungry too fast until the next meal of the day. You totally can add some spices like chilii powder, bell pepper, parsley depending on your taste or availability.
How To Make San Giorgio Lasagna?
Yes, the most important thing is you need to preheat your oven in 10 minutes at 350F. The rest is just so easy. The ingredients you can easily get from any grocery store. Don’t worry if you have never cooked pasta before, the directions are clearly shown on the package. Besides 1 hour baking, the preparation takes you only 15 minutes. Believe me, once you know how to make, this recipe is always in your hand.
Ingredients
- 16 oz San Giorgio Lasagna
- 1 lb ground beef/ minced beef
- 1 jar (24 oz.) pasta sauce
- 1 1/2 cups water
- 2 cups ricotta cheese
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 eggs
- 1/4 cup parsley, chopped
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp freshly ground black pepper
Instructions
Step 1
Put meat into a large skillet, cook until the meat turns brown. Take out and drain and keep the meat juice for later use. Now, pour in the spaghetti sauce and let it simmer for 10 minutes. Boil water and cook the pasta following the instructions printed on the package; drain well once done. To cool the pasta, spread it onto foil and set aside

In a medium bowl, add ricotta cheese, parmesan cheese, 1-1/2 cups mozzarella cheese, eggs, salt, and pepper, parsley and stir them well.
Step 3
Take the baking dish, pour 1 cup of the meat sauce on the bottom of the dish. The dish will be perfect with the size of 11 x 7 inch. Arrange 4 pieces of cooked pasta over the sauce.
Step 4
Spread one-third of the cheese filling, then, cover with about ¾ – 1 cup of meat sauce. Continue repeating layers of pasta, cheese mixture and sauce. Make sure to end with pasta.
Step 5
Top with the remaining 1/2 cup mozzarella cheese and additional parmesan cheese. Cover the dish tightly with foil.
Step 6
Bake in 45 minutes after preheating the oven.The perfect cook mixture is hot with bubbles. Carefully take away the foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes until lightly browned. Remove the dish from the oven and let cool for 10 minutes and serve on a separate plate.
